Ready set go!!

It's here!  The afternoon before our first match of the season.  Time slows and the clock creeps towards the hour of 7pm when we get to see another team across the net from us for the first time after a long, challenging, productive preseason.
Our Freshmen will be putting on their first collegiate jersey, experiencing the thrill of playing the sport they love, at college---the culmination of many years of training, carpooling, gym time, missed school activities, eating dinner on the run, and the other sacrifices it takes to get good at any one thing.
Our Sophomores are ready to go with the excitement of knowing-----they know our conference, they know what it feels to run through your first warm-up in front of fans, they know their pregame ritual.

What we don't yet know is how the amazing strength of this group will take shape on the court.  We've talked all preseason about leveraging the strengths of this team and creating our own reality. That's the real excitement---beyond the first whistle, the reality of the first few contacts.  We fully expect to see a lot of young nerves and too much adrenaline at work---what we're really waiting to see is the merging of purpose, the beauty of a group of athletes bent on a common goal, the poetry of sport.
