Spring has Sprung!

What does Spring feel like around the Whitman campus you might ask?

Coaches are hunkered over their computers, cell phones and recruiting lists hoping that Admissions is noticing how wonderful that ONE particular recruit is, or those TWO recruits, well...maybe 5 or 6 depending on what program you're thinking of.

Grass is greening, bulbs are starting to bloom, and depending on the hour it could be hailing or snowing...

The volleyball team has put in a great two months or so in the weight room---we are noticeably stronger

All of us are excited to get on the court for Spring practices.  Coach Brennan and I will work to master some technology, so that we can train specifically on mechanics with individual players.  We will.  We can do it!  "I swear that's the button you push..."

Team dinner the other night, as a study break during mid-terms.  Wonderful thai food at Thai Ploy.

It's the height of club volleyball season, and I just returned from Denver and the Colorado Crossroads tournament where I saw a LOT of volleyball, and am already thinking of recruits for the Fall of 2011 and 2012.  Hard to believe.

Tennis, baseball and golf are getting into full swing---always looking skyward hoping for blue

We are planning our first annual Whitman outdoor grass doubles tournament as a fundraiser for the program

Mostly we are dreaming and planning and growing impatient for next year as we learn what freshmen will be joining us, and start to realize just how much we can shape our own success!
